Hi, I’m Sydney, a master’s-level pre-licensed therapist who is passionate about walking alongside individuals as they navigate life’s challenges with compassion, hope, and grace. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Minnesota Duluth and my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. I work with individuals seeking support for anxiety, depression, burnout, grief, relationship challenges, and life transitions.
I believe my compassion and empathy are rooted in the love of Christ. Psalm 34:18 reminds us that, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” This verse guides my work and serves as a reminder that no one has to face life’s hardships alone. I strive to create a safe, supportive environment where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered to grow, whether or not they choose to incorporate their faith into the counseling process.
My approach to therapy is client-centered, strengths-based, and eclectic, drawing from evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care. I believe each person’s story is unique, and I tailor therapy to meet each client’s individual needs and goals.
I often describe therapy as a life jacket during life’s most difficult seasons. When stress, trauma, or loss leaves us feeling like we’ve forgotten how to swim, therapy can provide the support needed to stay afloat, regain confidence, and move toward healing. My goal is to help clients reconnect with their strengths, build resilience, and find hope as they navigate life’s journey.
When I’m not in the therapy office, I love tending to my plants, sharing a good bowl of mac and cheese, and spending quality time with my dogs and family. I believe it’s often the simple things in life that bring comfort and joy.
