Hello, my name is Amber, and I am currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling at Adler Graduate School. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Northwestern- St. Paul in 2010.

I enjoy coming alongside individuals and couples who desire healing and growth- whether that means strengthening their relationship, working through challenges together, or coping with life transitions. I have a strong interest in supporting those to navigate difficult seasons due to: infertility, pregnancy loss, the birth of multiples, and parenting children with disabilities.

In a world that often emphasizes individuality, I believe God designed us to live our fullest life when in connection with others. Healthy relationships exist when each person is pursuing their own mental and emotional well-being. I value listening to people’s life stories and helping identify patterns that influence their experiences and choices. We are each the author of our own story. However, at times it can feel like we’ve handed the pen to others. My goal is to walk alongside you as you develop the skills and tools to reclaim your voice and authorship. My counseling approach is collaborative, honest, and grounded, with a dash of humor.

Outside of my graduate work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our children. We love being outdoors, camping, playing board games, baking, and doing crafts together. I understand how the challenges of parenting can impact relationships. This awareness drives my passion to help families find tools and skills that can improve their relationships. When the core relationship with the parents is healthy, it often creates a ripple effect throughout the entire family unit.

Amber is an intern student at NWFC and is currently finishing her master’s program at Alder Graduate School. She is supervised by Dan Schmoyer, MA, LPCC.
